Fire Safety Training

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires companies to ensure that general fire precautions will ensure the safety of company employees and that all possible precautions are taken to prevent fire.

A company must also perform risk assessments for fire precautions by a trained Fire Safety Officer. We are now able to offer a complete Fire Safety Training programme with an online video training course.

The video course for Fire Safety Training can be completed at your own pace and provides full fire training awareness for employers and assists employees in identifying and reducing the risk that fire presents in the workplace.

The Fire Safety Training course is broken down into modules, each of which covers areas and requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Each module is completed with a series of tests which must be completed to pass the course.

Modules run through the chemistry of fire, covering the Fire Triangle, how fires spread and the dangers of smoke. Common causes of fire takes a look at how fires start within companies, including arson, the inherent dangers of smoking in the workplace, poor housekeeping and electrical equipment.

Learning about the safety features within buildings discusses the need for fire alarm call points, using smoke and heat detectors, the use of clear lighting, signs and fire doors to aid a fire evacuation and stop the spread of a fire.

While larger fires will require evacuation, a smaller fire may be dealt with internally. A module on fire extinguishers shows you how to use different types of fire extinguishers to battle specific fires. Do you know when to use water, carbon dioxide, foam, dry powder or wet chemical fire extinguishers?

The final module covers exactly what you should do when discovering a fire and what to do when the fire alarm goes off.

On successful completion of the course you will be presented with an IFE approved certificate to confirm your abilities to conform to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
