Loss and Accidental Damage Waiver |

The Loss and Accidental Damage Waiver offers you the protection while renting equipment from us. The cover includes any damage to the equipment or loss from theft while in your possession or during transit. These terms and conditions explain more of how the Loss and Accidental Damage Waiver are applied. The Loss and Accidental Damage Waiver can be selected when meter hire is taken out with us during the order process.
- These terms and conditions shall apply to any loss/accidental damage waiver transaction between Castle Group Ltd (the owner) and the customer unless any variation is agreed and accepted by the owner in writing.
- As an alternative to clause 5(a) of the Standard Terms and Conditions of Hire, the owner undertakes, subject to an extra payment, to offer a waiver to cover any loss or damage to the equipment whilst in the customer’s possession and while in the custody or control of the carrier until delivered to the Customer's premises or in the course of return transit to the owner.
- This option must have been taken out prior to commencement of hire.
- The owner shall not be liable in respect of:
- Loss of profits, delay or any consequential loss.
- Hire charges.
- Damage to property arising as a result of packing which was inadequate to withstand normal handling during return transit to the owner.
- Damage to property caused by inappropriate or incorrect use as detailed in the relevant instructions.
- Theft of property from any unattended vehicle.
- Damage to property due to insufficient labelling or incorrect addressing or failure to make proper and complete declarations required by carriers.
- Damage to property transported by an unauthorised carrier.
- Damage to property caused by or arising from war invasion act of foreign enemy hostilities (whether war be declared or not) civil war rebellion revolution insurrection military or usurped power confiscation requisition seizure or destruction by any government or any public authority
- Damage caused by any act of terrorism
- The property must only be transported by a carrier authorised and organised by the Company. By prior written agreement an independent carrier may be used but the customer will be liable for the insurance of the property while in transit to the value of the full list price of the property.
