Ever wondered why your nearest & dearest get frustrated because they have to keep repeating themselves; or maybe you keep blaming the telly because you can't here every word uttered? Maybe you believe the whole world has a conspiracy theory against you. Perhaps, just perhaps its YOU!
Unfortunately as we become older and hopefully wiser we tend to suffer from some of our systems not quite functioning as well as others. This is certainly true of our hearing. The problem is our natural ageing process (presbyacusis) or have we been physically damaged by high levels of noise in our working environment? This Roadshow will show you (and allow you to listen to) the truth behind the myths.
Aims And Objectives
This Roadshow will give you an insight into the current Legislation as detailed in The Control of Noise at Work Regulations as well as standards and guidance related to Human Hearing. The informal presentations will also cover human anatomy related to the hearing process; a bit about the theory of acoustics; types of hearing loss and of course audiometric testing. Demonstrations will be conducted throughout the Roadshow, with the opportunity to "see" how you hear.
Who Should Attend?
If you are an occupational health specialist, a health & safety professional or have a responsibility for employees well being, with regard to the impact of noise, then this Roadshow is designed for you. This will apply equally if you work in industry, local authority, health authority or consultancy.
