Newsletter

Well, that’s the longest month of the year over! And, who managed a Dry January? We always love hearing everyone’s resolutions, apparently only 9% of us stick to our resolutions and successfully see them through!

But, our resolution here at Castle was to keep doing what we’re doing to give you the best products and knowledge in the industry!

So what’s been going on and what’s coming up……

Vibration Awareness Month

This month, for the second year running, we are launching our February ‘Vibration Awareness Month’.

We’ll be looking at all things HAVS, as well as whole body vibration. We’ll be exploring any burning questions you have and giving you an insight to all the nifty kit we have for you to measure vibration and why it’s is important.

And, of course, we’re giving you the chance to join one of our infamous FREE Webinars!!

You’ll also get chance to ask any questions you have or you can email them to us beforehand – enquiries@castlegroup.co.uk

Don’t forget, even if you can’t make it, if you sign up you’ll get the replay sent to after!

Night and Day Manchester

You’ll have read in our previous newsletter about Night and Day, Manchester, being served a noise abatement notice by Manchester council in 2021 after complaints from a neighbouring flat.

The property adjoined to the venue was converted in recent years into living accommodation. It raises an interesting point about noise complaints as “being there first” is no defence in these situations. A tricky one in this case as possibly something has gone wrong during the process?

The hearing was meant to resume on the 17th of January,2023, but has currently been adjourned with talks happening between the council and the owners of the venue to hopefully reach a suitable resolution for all.

Guy Waites

Well it’s been one hell of a ride and unfortunately now the Golden Globe Race dream is over for Guy!

Due to Guy’s barnacle issue, he made the tough decision to put into Cape Town, SA, and give his bottom a good old scrub and some new layers of anti-foul. This, however, meant he had to either retire completely or enter Chichester class, which allows competitors one stop, but still carry on under the GGR banner. Guy chose the latter and with great determination, set off again just before December. The next obstacle? Guy would have to reach the Hobart, Tasmania, gate buy 31st January 2023. After this time it is considered to dangerous to contemplate the southern ocean and the Cape Horn. As determined as Guy was, he would have had to consistently be making a minimum of 185 nautical miles a day and with the best will in the world and extra speed from the currents Guy has just missed the cut off!

We are so proud of Guy, as we know it hasn’t been easy, and never was going to be easy, but, he has kept going even when he wanted to give up.

So, what now? As there is such a detour into Hobart, Guy has headed straight on towards Cape Horn and is still set on completing his solo circumnavigation!

You can still track Guy over on his website, www.guywaitessailing.com, and we will still be keeping you up to date on his progress!
